Historical Institutions and places close to the Park:

Borno Museum:-
The Museum is situated at the premises of the Open-Air Theater in Maiduguri Metropolis. It is an epitome of Borno famous history and cultural heritage that is collectively enriched by its heterogeneous ethic groups. There is also a National Museum of monument in the metropolis that is located at the Custom area. It is enriched with historical artifacts.

Lake Tilla:-
It is a Lake in the south west of Biu. The lake varies in size depending on the season. The lakes contain only crocodiles. It has beautiful scenery, which holds an excellent feature for tourism activities around the Park.

Shehu’s Palace:-

         Shehu of Borno Palace
This place reflects the grandeur, prestigious relics and modified architectural design of the Arab civilization. It is located at the end of the Dandal way in the Maiduguri Metropolis. It is bricks-built and was constructed by the artistry of four (4) famous Kanuri masons and Architects. The façade of the palatial movement is used as a venue for events such as Durbar Festivals, installation and turbaning of traditional rulers, etc.



Tombs of the first four Shehu’s at Kukawa:-

The tombs of the successive Shehus of Borno from the period of 1814-1885 including that of El-Kanemi himself can be seen at Kukawa, a historical town Northeast of Maiduguri.

These tombs are under ground in the ruins of the old palace, which are still preserved together with the antiquities of ancient Kanem Borno.
