The nearest tourists delight to Chad Basin National Park is Yankari Game Reserve. It is located in Bauchi State about 450km away from the Park. Also, Waza National Park in the neighboring Republic of Cameroon is about 200km away from Maiduguri and is contiguous to Chad Basin National Park.
Chad Basin National Park is open to visitors all year round. However for tourists interested in eco-tourism activities, the Park environment is most suitably disposed between the months of December-May when the climatic conditions are drier and allow full access into the Park. The Park is usually flooded between the months of June-October every year during the wet season that makes the Park inaccessible.
