NPS-GEF Coordinating Unit:
The National Park Service-Global Environment facility (NPS-GEF) Coordinating Unit is situated on the Park Headquarters premises. NPS-GEF is a component of the Local Empowerment & Environmental Management Project (LEEMP), funded with a grant from GEF for Protected Areas and Biodiversity Management. The GEF supported activities seek to strengthen Protected Areas managements and at the same time involving support zone communities in the management of biodiversity and wildlife. The communities are supported with alternative livelihood activities to reduce pressure of the Protected Areas.
