THE GASHAKA PRIMATE PROJECT
 Gashaka Primate Project Research centre
The Project was founded in 2000 by the Department of Anthropology, University College London. The Project aims to understand the interactions between primates and their natural environment, while at the same time contributing to the conservation of one of the premier wilderness where Monkeys and Apes still survive in large numbers.
Activities of the project include: Park protection, boundary demarcation and anti-poaching patrol, eco-tourism development, community outreach activities, conservation through research and developing of Park infrastructure.

- Hippo pool located at Mayo Kam in Gashaka sector.
- Bat forest located in gashaka sector (upper Dou mayo)
- Pre-1918 German fort (in Gashaka sector)
- Sangurditti (stone of money)
- Matashirip hot spring (Gashaka sctor)
- Kiri waterfalls (in Toungo sector)
- Kwano primate zone (Gashaka sector)
- Chappal waddi (Gashaka sector) highest peak in the country.
- Zanti hill. An outcrop of inselberg mountain overseeing Toungo town standing at about 120m. Archaeological sites are found on the hill top.
