Bushbuck
Kainji Lake has rich, diversified fauna and flora resources. The vegetation is of the northern-guinea savannah type with distinctive complexes: Burkea/Detarium woodland, Afzelia/Isoberlinia woodland, the Oli River complex, Acacia/Anogeissus/Detarium woodland complex.

Significant fauna resources in the Park include Buffalo (Syncerus cafer), Roan Antelope (Hippotragus equinus), Hippopotamus (Hippotamus amphibious), Buffon’s kob (Kobus kob), Western hartebeest (Acelaphus buselaphus), Lion (Panthera leo), Leopard (panthera pardus), Aardvark (Cryceteropus afer) and Olive baboon (Papio anubis).
