INTRODUCTION


Head Office, Kamuku National Park
Kamuku National Park is located in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State of Nigeria. It is situated between latitudes 10o 40’N; Longitudes 6o 11’E and 6o 36’E in the north-central part of Nigeria and it is the closest unit Park to the Park Headquarters, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Kamuku National Park was initially by gazette of 1936, a Native Authority Forest Reserve under the defunct Northern Nigeria Government. It boasts of a land area of about 1,120sq km of typical Savannah Woodland vegetation.

Accessibility

Kamuku is close to Kaduna and Minna. It can be accessed either through Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari Road, or Lagos-Ilorin-Mokwa to Birnin-Gwari town. Kaduna International Airport is the closest means of air transportation to get to the Park. Other airports that may be used to access the Park via Kaduna International Airport are the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.
